ESCAPE MAZE

Dual Concept Maze Game

Escape maze is an escape and hunting game that involves players finding a treasure chest within a double layered maze while avoiding hungry cute monsters following them around. This was an experimental concept of combining and contrasting the sensation of fear with cutesy and wonderous appearance. The tension of whimsical wonder versus thrilling horror was analyzed during in-class playtests. 

 

I was the main programmer and the main composer and sound effect specialist. I also took part in the game design, level design. During the creation process, I kept track of my documentation and playtest feedback using a weekly journal.

While it was not a requirement due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this prototype was pushed to a full-game cycle completion compared to the other submissions.
