HALLYU IX

Montreal's Biggest KPOP Show in 2017

I was one of the four executives that produced Hallyu 9, a Kpop performance show hosted at Monument National. As a team leader and external exec, I oversaw our team of 63 performers (dancers, singers, musicians) in terms of their practice schedules, studio bookings and evaluations. I was also in charge of sponsors, managing external staff for the stage and lighting as well as aiding in fundraising events.

While Hallyu is mainly a dancing and singing show, it also featured a 20 minute-long drama short that I had co-written and acted in.

I took part in the creative process of the show’s branding and logo, which was I used for promotional posters and merchandise. The outcome was a successful and impactful sold out show of 800 people.

BRANDING AND DESIGN

THEME - UNSTOPPABLE

As the year just before the 10th year anniversary of Montreal's biggest Kpop show, we wanted to convey a message of the club's continuous efforts and limitless potential, forging forward where the sky's the limit. Therefore, the branding of our year 9's theme revolved around the word "Unstoppable".

We wanted our design to convey our grungy, savage and almost hungry passion and desire to perform Kpop dances and songs at the highest level.

We were fortunate enough to work with an amazing designer who forged the following neon light logo for us. It was fierce while remaining concise and elegant, which worked well when used in our promotional banners and posters for the show as well as our merchandises.

This Unstoppable message empowered our members and was transmitted through our live showcase, where over 800 people attended.
